Whenever I put together a review of a building set based on a character or series, I like to include a description of the franchise. This set is not an exception to my rule.

The Popular Video Game For Sega

Sonic The Hedgehog is a Japanese video game created and owned by Sega, and it was released in 1991 on the Sega Genesis console. The game stars Sonic The Hedgehog, who is known as the Sega mascot.

The object of the game is to collect the six Chaos Emeralds and free the animals that are trapped inside Dr. Robotnik’s robots and metal capsules.

The popular character travels through levels such as the Green Hill Zone and Marble Zone to find the emeralds and free his friends. The game is complete when he has collected all six emeralds and defeated the final boss.

Sega has released many additional Sonic The Hedgehog games. In addition, the franchise has released toys, comic books, an animated series and a live-action movie. The franchise is still popular today.

The Nanoblock Set

The Nanoblock Sonic The Hedgehog set allows you to build 3D a model of the popular character. This set may feature a compact design, but the model is sure to power up any collection.

I have been a fan of this franchise for most of my life, and I adore the details of the 3D model. It features everything from his green eyes and white gloves to his powerful red and white sneakers.

The smallest pieces measure 4 mm by 4 mm by 5 mm to ensure a perfect fit.

Once assembled, he stands approximately 2.5 inches tall. He is perfect for your desk, nightstand or shelf.

Siliconera is another fan and collector, and they shared the measurements of the characters in this collection in millimeters.

To quote this blogger,

“As for the designs, each one is about 66 mm tall, though Tails is a bit shorter than both Sonic and Eggman and is only 61 mm.”

Difficulty Level

All standard sets are based on a difficulty scale of one to five. One is the easiest level and ideal for beginners. Five is the most advanced level and ideal for experienced builders.

Nanoblock Sets Difficulty Levels

This Sega-inspired set is based at level two, which makes it perfect for children and adults. In fact, the set is designed for builders ages 8 and older. I was able to build the character in about 25 minutes.

Several characters in the video game collection have the number of pieces and difficulty levels in common.

To quote NintendoSoup,

“Each set will include around 150 pieces with level 2/5 difficulty to build.”
